It’s been announced this week that toymaker LEGO has secured the licenses for both DC and Marvel Comic book characters. LEGO has already produced many Batman lego construction sets from which they’ll be expanding upon with more DC superhero characters. LEGO will also be producing construction sets for Marvel Superhero characters. LEGO has produced Spider-Man movie toy sets, but this is the first time to my memory that LEGO has held the license to both sets of major comic company characters. I’m guessing that the Marvel character licensing is extending from LEGO’s handling of other Disney characters. Most recently LEGO has made sets for Toy Story 3 and Cars 2.
My son loves LEGO, its one of the few toys we share the same level of interest in aside from model railroad. I’ve drooled over the Batman sets whenever we go to the LEGO store, I can’t wait to see what they come up with now that they have the doors to both comic book universes open to them.
