Comic Book News Wrap – Issue 3
Marvel Universe Online MMO brings John Layman Aboard
Game developer, Cryptic Studios has brought in John Layman, currently writing Tek Jansen for Oni Press, as a design writer for the upcoming Marvel Universe Online MMO. I enjoyed Layman’s work on the House of M: Fantastic Four book. That book and the Hulk were the only two offshoots of the House of M series that I bought and read in addition to the main limited series. Layman has the knowledge and background to be a good addition to the team putting this online world together. I’m still scratching my head on how this MMO is going to work. I’m guessing its not like City of Heroes where you can create any hero you want, but you’ll play as a Marvel hero… since that where the fun would be. However are we going to have situations were there are 450 Wolverines and 600 Hulks running around at any one time?? I guess I’ll have to wait for this thing to come out to see. I dig playing Ultimate Alliance on my Xbox 360. I’m droracle on Xbox Live, look for me online.

Marvel Postage Stamps! Woot!
DC had some excellent stamps last year and we’ve had some cool Star Wars stamps earlier this year. Now it’s Marvel’s turn. Makes me wish I sent more mail. Spider-Man, The Hulk, Capt. America, The Ever Lovin’ Blue-Eyed Thing, Spider-Woman, Sub-Mariner, Silver Surfer, Electra, Iron Man, and Wolverine. I’m not crazy about all the selection choices, but I’m still happy about a Thing and a Hulk stamp. I can’t believe we lost out on a She-Hulk or Ms. Marvel stamp so that we could make room for Electra??? WTF?
They’ll be unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 26. Which I’ll be going to… in case you didn’t read that in my other entries. YAH!

Elsewhere in the Marvel U. we still have World War Hulk raging on another other developments. I think I’ve gotta move some of the choices around so I can start buying Capt. America again. Call me a purist, I like the original line-up.

WHOA! A new Howard the Duck mini-series. Unfortunately Steve Gerber isn’t writing this, but that comes as no surprise.
